Poetic Technologies' owner/founder, William Collier, designed, developed, manufactured, and installed a modular trading pit system for the CHICAGO MERCANTILE EXCHANGE. Ranging in elevation from 5" to 65", the pits can easily be raised and lowered, expanded or contracted. The pits can be totally reconfigured overnight to respond to constantly changing markets. In addition, Collier designed the MERC's indirect HID (high intensity discharge) lightning system - a unique solution for a very difficult lighting problem (23' high ceilings). The indirect light provides a glare-free environment...extremely important to traders who spend their days reading computer monitors, trading cards, and price boards. For his design Collier won the New York Institue of Business Design Award.
